After a sluggish start to the Jordan Love era, the Green Bay Packers have overcome the odds and are only one victory away from securing a postseason spot.
Green Bay’s comeback in the second half is mostly due to Love and their better offensive play. The new-look receiving group for the Packers, which includes rising youngster Jayden Reed, and the offensive line have both improved.
This season, a number of Packers on rookie contracts have performed well. Many people with large contracts, meanwhile, have fallen short of expectations.
Notwithstanding Joe Barry’s tenure as defensive coordinator, Green Bay still hopes to make the postseason. Although it started the season with some promise, the Packers’ defence has drastically declined.
The Packers’ run defence is among the worst in the league under Barry’s direction, allowing four teams to carry for more than 200 yards.
In back-to-back weeks, Tommy DeVito, Baker Mayfield, and Bryce Young had career-high passing days against the Packers’ defence, totaling 851 yards, seven touchdowns, and zero interceptions.
DeVito added 71 yards of rushing as well. Mayfield obtained an impeccable passing grade. In the last six games, Young has not completed a touchdown pass in any of them. He had two versus Green Bay, and it was the lone exception. Over the previous six weeks, Carolina has averaged 8.6 points per game, excluding the matchup with the Packers. They scored thirty against Barry’s defence.
We have so much more to say. Green Bay’s defence has performed horribly under Barry.
