Wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones is traded by the Detroit Lions for an NFL draft pick.

The Browns selected Peoples-Jones, who is in his fourth season in the league, in the sixth round of the 2020 draft. For the 24-year-old Detroit native and Cass Tech alum, who played for the Michigan Wolverines from 2017 to 2019 before joining the NFL, it’s a return home.

He hauled in 1,837 yards and eight touchdowns on 117 receptions.

“We’re thrilled with the child. He will fit right in here because he has a history of good productivity. He’s always been a good-natured child. “I think he’ll be very, very happy,” Lions general manager Brad Holmes stated at a press conference. “He’s from Detroit; he’s a local kid.” “We always consider the best interests of the squad and the franchise when making decisions.”

Following a 26-14 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday night football on October 30, the Lions will have a bye week. With a 6-2 record, the team is still atop the NFC North standings.
