With the CFL’s “legal tampering window” set to close at 12 on Sunday and free agency starting at noon on Tuesday, the Redblacks have already committed a significant portion of their $5.585 million salary budget to early signings and raises.
Money Hunter, a defensive back who appeared in just four games last season, was the most recent addition. following a preseason scrimmage in which he tore his pectoral muscle. In 12 games with the Redblacks in 2022, Hunter recorded 38 tackles and four interceptions.

Strong-side linebacker/defensive back Adarius Pickett was signed by the Redblacks earlier this week to a one-year deal that is reportedly for $170,000. Since the Toronto Argonauts released him, the Redblacks have fulfilled that agreement.
In addition to signing quarterback Dru Brown, Ottawa also signed receiver Dominique Rhymes to a two-year contract after the Lions of BC dropped him. These are both noteworthy additions.
As the team’s starting quarterback heading into training camp, Brown offers stability that the team lacked the previous season when Jeremiah Masoli suffered an Achilles tendon rupture in his first game back on the field after missing the majority of the previous two seasons due to injury.
The Redblacks’ quarterback depth chart also includes Dustin Crum, who played a large portion of previous season, Tyrie
