Jan 17: FOUR MORE FUTURESIn addition to the 10 players they signed to futures contracts on Tuesday, the Los Angeles Rams added four additional players on Wednesday.
Those two new signings were tight ends, Miller Forristall and Nikola Kalinic.
In his six NFL games, Forristall has been targeted just once.
In addition, L.A. signed guard Grant Miller and wide receiver Xavier Smith to reserve or future contracts.
FUTURES AGREEABLE JAN 16.Following their Sunday loss to the Detroit Lions, the Los Angeles Rams signed eleven players to futures contracts, securing their practice squad members for the upcoming off-season.
The highlight of the group is Logan Bruss, a former third-round draft pick that the Rams cut at the end of August before adding him to the practice squad.
Los Angeles tried to make things work for Bruss during OTAs because he played right tackle for the most of his NCAA career, but he was unable to make an impression that would stick.
The final nail in Bruss’ coffin came from his awful preseason performance, where he was ranked sixth worst among Los Angeles’ offensive players by Pro Football Focus with an overall rating of just 47.5.
After clearing waivers, Bruss was added back to the practice squad and participated in games with them the entire season.
The following players have agreed to future contracts with the Rams; the complete list is provided below:
Arcuri Logan Bruns, A.J. Durden Cory Olakunle Fatukasi Tanner in English
Cameron McAllister, Michael McCutcheon
Thomas Van VanValkenburg Zachary Zach, the seamstress.
RAMS TRIP DELAYED JAN. 15 DUE TO PLAYOFF LOSIn the hours that followed, the heartbreaking 24-23 loss the Los Angeles Rams endured on Sunday night against the Detroit Lions in the wildcard round only deepened.
More than 12 hours after they were eliminated from the playoffs, the Rams’ plane finally touched down in Los Angeles, shortly before 9 a.m. PST, according to NFL Network.
“Plane issues and hours and hours of delays” plagued the Rams, impeding their progress and lengthening the already excruciatingly long night.
Nevertheless, the Rams are safely back home and can put their nightmares from Detroit behind them.
January 9: DO THE MEMBERS WANT MORRIS?As one of the most recognized defensive coordinators in the modern NFL, Raheem Morris of the Los Angeles Rams is aggressively being pursued for multiple positions throughout the league, which should come as no surprise.
Morris has already been asked by the Panthers and Commanders since those roles became open, and now there’s another one.
Playing the Los Angeles Chargers right across town this time,
The Chargers have fired coach Brandon Staley following a very poor 5-9 season in which his team fielded one of the worst defenses in the NFL.
Morris did have head coaching experience in the past, although it was just for a short while, spending 21–38 seasons as both the Buccaneers’ and Falcons’ head coach.
The Chargers will have Morris available for a video interview following the conclusion of the Rams vs. Lions Wild Card round game. Personal interviews are not permitted until following the divisional competition round.
January 7th: The last day Puka Nacua smashed rookie receiving and touchdown records in a season in a matter of plays. At Levi’s Stadium, the Los Angeles Rams are currently cutting into the lead that the San Francisco 49ers had.
After 17 plays, 75 yards, 10 minutes, and 15 seconds, the Rams were in the end zone thanks to a touchdown pass from Carson Wentz to Tyler Johnson.
Johnson’s touchdown pass was his first of the season, and Wentz’s was his second of the match.
When Brett Maher, the Rams’ replacement kicker, missed the extra point, the 49ers led 20–13.
EARLY JAN: CUTTING CUTThe Los Angeles Rams have struggled with kicking lately, almost losing games on multiple occasions as a result.
And after another trying Sunday, the Rams decided to change things up, benching kicker Lucas Havrisik, according to a team statement.
Havrisik converted 15 of his 20 field goals with a kick and 19 of his 22 extra points—two of which he missed on Sunday.
The Los Angeles Rams maintained their winning ways from the previous week, on December 31st, when they defeated the New York Giants on Sunday thanks to a touchdown run by Kyren Williams.
Throughout the drive, Williams got a lot of activity; on seven carries, he gained 33 yards and a touchdown, and on one reception, he gained five yards. It was Williams’ eleventh touchdown of the year.
