Deshaun Watson Could Be Back OnpSidelines Soon
Watson is out for the full season with a shoulder injury. But as per Kevin Stefanski’s announcement on Friday, Watson will recuperate in Los Angeles and rejoin his colleagues the following week.
Deshaun Watson may return to the Browns in the near future, despite the fact that he won’t be able to play for them until 2024.
Watson may be back with the Browns next week as they look to win a postseason berth. Watson has spent the majority of the last three weeks rehabilitating in Los Angeles from a shoulder injury that interrupted his season.
Chief coaching officer Kevin Stefanski said he has “been staying in touch with him all week” on Friday. When he gets back the following week, we can’t wait for him to join us in the building. Even though he is living and dying in Los Angeles while watching us play, it will be good to see him again in person. He does, however, assist his teammates on a daily basis.
Watson has not been with the club since undergoing surgery on November 21 in Los Angeles by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, nine days after suffering the shoulder injury during a Week 10 victory against the Ravens. The Browns announced on November 15 that he will miss the entire season
As he recovered from surgery, the Browns decided it would be too risky for Watson to return to the sidelines, where he could run into an unplanned collision with players on the field, according to a report from Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com. Watson was still on the sidelines for the team’s next game, against the Steelers, on November 19.
According to Cabot’s story, Watson was not allowed to fly back and forth from Los Angeles to Cleveland or other destinations the Browns travelled to in order to lessen swelling in his shoulder by the Browns’ medical staff, or Dr. ElAttrache.
Because of this, Watson’s only opportunity to see the Browns play the Rams in Week 13 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles is after his operation. He was in a suite, watching the game.
Joe Flacco, who has provided the Browns with two of their greatest throwing performances of the season in their last two victories, has helped the passing game of the team, which has been doing just fine without Watson. With three games played, Flacco has now tied Vinny Testaverde for the franchise-high seven touchdown passes. He has also accumulated 939 passing yards, the most of any Browns quarterback in team history, through three games.
Watson’s season throwing yard total is about 177 yards away from being surpassed by Flacco. Prior to being declared out of the season, Watson participated in six games. During the season, he completed seven touchdown passes and one rushing touchdown.
