Ohio State Star Marvin Harrison Jr. Declares For 2024 NFL Draft
Superstar wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. of the Ohio State Buckeyes has formally declared for the 2024 NFL Draft.
Following three seasons in Columbus and 38 games for the Ohio State Buckeyes, Marvin Harrison Jr. will formally begin his next chapter in sports history on Thursday afternoon by filing for the NFL Draft.
Harrison Jr. will now follow in his father’s footsteps. The elder Harrison had a stellar 13-year NFL career after being selected No. 19 overall by the Indianapolis Colts in the first round of the 1996 NFL Draft.
Nobody was surprised by Harrison’s choice, which was widely anticipated given that he was predicted to be a top-5 (or maybe even a top-2) pick in the spring draft.
Harrison declared on Instagram, saying:
Firstly, I want to express my gratitude to God for giving me the skills and wonderful chance to play the game I love at The Ohio State University. Praise and glory be to him.
I would like to express my gratitude to all of the Ohio State University community, both inside and outside the football team. In order to help me become the best person I can be both on and off the field, I would want to thank Gene Smith, my teammates, coaches, strength staff, trainers, nutritionist, CJ Barnett, Equipment Services, Media Team, SASSO, and everyone else working in the WHAC. Without each and every one of you, I could not have achieved the success I have personally, and I am grateful for your support and assistance.
I want to express my gratitude to my family and loved ones for their unwavering love and support throughout my life, as well as for the sacrifices they made to help me get to where I am now.
I could not have asked for a better group of players and coaches to spend my college years with than Zone 6. I will always cherish the times we spent together, from the rivalry on the field to the late evenings spent watching movies and catching passes. Maintain the Tradition.
I hope I left enduring memories for you on the field, and to Buckeye Nation, I will always treasure the affection I received from you all in the Shoe and on the road. Thank you for your support over the last three years. Forever Buckeye.
Having said that, I’ve made the decision to enter the NFL draft. A real dream realized.
He now concludes his Buckeyes career as maybe the greatest receiver to ever play for the team, having caught 155 passes for 2,613 yards and 31 touchdowns. He also set a record this season for the most 100-yard receiving games (15 in a career).
In only this season, Harrison Jr. had one of the best single seasons in school history with 67 receptions for 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns.
