Breaking News: Star of the Georgia Bulldogs is Back.
Being a college football coach has always required a lot of physical exertion. It’s never been easy to select the players of the future while trying to extract as much as possible from the group that you currently have in order to win on Saturdays. Still, the majority of college coaches nowadays concur that it takes longer than it used to.
College coaches rarely have time for their families or anything other than football because of the confluence of their name, image, and likeness along with the NCAA transfer portal.
It took Smart a while to realize that coaches had unexpectedly shifted from spending time with their families to visiting the campus and having frequent recruiting schedules after nearly a full year and a half during and following COVID restrictions.
At a coaches clinic in Texas on Tuesday, Smart revealed that UGA hosted players on a daily basis from June 1st until June 28th, 2021, when the NCAA relaxed the rules.
“I was prepared to resign and give up,” said Smart. “I had finished,”In order to counter that, Smart gave his employees Mondays off in June of this year so they could all rest. In order to allow his coaches to concentrate on recruiting on Friday evenings, according to sources with FootballScoop.com, Smart also assigned his coaches work tasks for Friday afternoons rather than Friday mornings.
Smart is currently in the middle of what appears to be a quite significant contract extension. It makes logical to presume that he has moved past these ideas of giving up on the game because he won a national title.
