The Braves have placed outfielder Michael Harris on the transfer list with a strained hamstring. He will undergo further testing today..
Outfielder Michael Harris was placed on the 10-day disabled list by the Atlanta Braves on Saturday, as anticipated.. During Friday’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays, Harris strained his left hamstring.
Following the game, Brian Snitker said that Harris would be placed on the injured list and would be subjected to further testing on Saturday in order to ascertain the extent of his injuries. Ramon Laureano’s contract was chosen by Atlanta to take Harris’ place on the playing squad.. To make room for Spencer Strider on the 40-man roster, he was placed on the 60-day injured list.
Harris, like most of his colleagues, has had a difficult start to the season, but before the injury, he was beginning to improve. He singled in the first inning on Friday, extending his hitting streak to five games in a row. In 67 games, he has an 84 wRC+, five home runs, and a.250/.295/.358 batting line overall.
Laureano was traded by Cleveland at the start of the season, having only hit.143,.265, and.229 in 31 games. On May 29, he signed a minor league contract with Atlanta, and after 14 games in Gwinnett, he was hitting.362/.424/.603 with three home runs.
Though not nearly as talented as Harris, the Braves have some choices at centre. Harris was replaced in Friday’s game by J.P. Martinez. Adam Duvall and Jarred Kelenic might both get time there. While Harris is out, Ozzie Albies will probably take over as the starting leadoff player full-time.
