Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum just announced his departure due to…
On Thursday, the Boston Celtics will try to lead the Indiana Pacers by two points in the Eastern Conference Finals. In the current playoff run, a win would be their first in Game 2 of the competition.
They lost at home to the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers in their first two postseason series, failing to take a 2-0 lead in either game.
The standout player for the Celtics, Jayson Tatum, is hoping that the current round versus the Pacers will go differently. He advised reporters that he and his teammates should approach the game with a “don’t relax” mentality after winning Game 1 on Tuesday.
“I believe that my attitude is, ‘Don’t relax.'” and many situations,” Tatum clarified. “We won our first Game 1 handily in the first two rounds. Perhaps there was some human nature to that. However, since it’s a close game going into overtime, we think we can play much better and they definitely feel like they should have won. I’m eager for us to defend home court more effectively than we have lately; therefore, I’m thrilled for us to respond.
Tatum made a valid argument in his post-match remarks. Even though they didn’t look like themselves in Game 1, Boston prevailed. This is a team that has gone into each game seeking to get better every time around. They’ve undoubtedly discovered a lot of things that they can work on before Game 2, as they’ve watched films in between games.
For instance, in the series opener, the Celtics were atrocious in the last minutes of the quarter. In the final three minutes of quarters 1-3, they were a combined -18. If they had only performed a little bit better, the result might not have been as tense as it was. Usually, the conclusion of the quarter is an excellent time to maintain any momentum you’ve gained.
