Ty Johnson has succeeded there, and for the time being at least, he has no desire to succeed anywhere else.

The journeyman running back will continue to play football in New York since he is expected to re-sign with the Buffalo Bills for at least a second season, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. Johnson, 26, played three seasons with the New York Jets before joining Buffalo last season.

Johnson was one of the team’s initial cuts when he first joined the Bills during training camp, but he was quickly invited back to the practice squad. He stayed there until October, when Damien Harris, another AFC East acquisition, suffered a season-ending injury and he was added to the active roster.

Johnson gained 192 yards on 37 touches to establish himself as a dependable backup player during the remaining ten games. On November 19, Buffalo gave Johnson some payback when it played the Jets: Johnson gained 47 yards on three receptions, one of which went for a 28-yard touchdown that proved to be the game-winning play in a 32-6 victory. Later, in the AFC Divisional playoff loss to Kansas City, Johnson received eight touches and gained 54 yards. Out of his eight touches, three resulted in first downs, while two more set up another play right away.
