Coco Gauff recently declared that he would shortly be retiring
Coco Gauff, the US Open winner, has secured her spot in the Miami Open’s fourth round.
US Open champion Coco Gauff will face Caroline Garcia in the Miami Open’s fourth round; Sky Sports Tennis is the only place to watch the Miami Open live, along with more than 80 other tournaments each year, including the US Open.
Coco Gauff, ranked third, defeated Oceane Dodin 6-4 6-0 to go to the Miami Open’s fourth round. She did this by winning ten straight games.
After going behind 4-2 in the opening set, Gauff had to save two break points to prevent losing more ground. Then, she found her game against Dodin, who gave up consecutive double faults when serving for a 5-3 lead, which ultimately proved to be her undoing.
Since winning the Washington championship in July of last year, the US Open winner has now won 22 of her last 23 home matches.
“It would be incredibly awesome to triumph here at home,” expressed Gauff, a Florida native.
“I believe that not having to fly and pack is the nicest thing about winning here—being able to drive home with the trophy. I support the Dolphins, so perhaps if I triumph here, they’ll take home another championship at the Super Bowl.”
After Caroline Garcia defeated former world No. 1 Naomi Osaka 7-6 7-5, she will play the Frenchwoman in the quarterfinals.
In her post-match press conference, US Open champion Gauff stated, “Caroline’s always a challenging player to play.” “I believe that was the last time I lost against her.
“She is resilient. Everybody knows how she plays. takes the ball very quickly and plays with great aggression.
“It will be crucial for me to just kind of stay on my game, get the ball deep in the court, and not let her run me around the court,” the player said.
