ESPN will air Alabama’s inaugural A-Day game under Kalen DeBoer.
ESPN revealed on Monday that Alabama fans will not be the only ones to have their first glimpse of the Crimson Tide football team under new head coach Kelen DeBoer—the school’s 2024 A-Day Spring Game on Saturday, April 13, at 3 p.m. CT, will be broadcast nationally.
ESPN has announced that the spring game featuring Alabama will be the only one shown on the network.
Since this will be the public’s first glimpse of DeBoer’s time at Alabama, a lot of eyes will be on the 15th and final session of the spring. It will also have a new look as the Tide added 34 new players, 8 new on-field coaches, and numerous new support staff members, while 40 players on the 2023 roster left the program through the NFL draft or the transfer portal.
DeBoer wants the spring scrimmage to follow a similar format as much as feasible.
“Many things are merely determined by the roster,” DeBoer stated on Tide 100.9. “I would really like to stick with the current format, which I know people adore. Of course, we’ll do that. However, we must ensure that everything we do is purposeful, geared toward improving us, and designed to make the most of each and every exercise.
“But I would really like to maintain the current format, which has provided fans with a great deal of enjoyment. We anticipate a fantastic A-Day crowd once more, and our boys should have a terrific day.
The Alabama football team’s roster was previously divided into two teams, with the first team’s defense and offense playing against each other. This arrangement also applied to the second team. After the scrimmage, the victorious team gets to have steak for supper, while the losing team has beans and weenies.
ESPN also revealed the details of Alabama’s 2024 Pro Day, which will take place on March 20 at 10:30 a.m. CT inside the Hank Crisp Indoor Practice Facility and be broadcast on the SEC Network.
