Even though Dan Campbell played in the NFL for more than 20 years, his longest relationship is with his wife.

Holly Campbell and the head coach of the Detroit Lions have been married for more than 20 years. After Dan accepted the coaching position in 2021, the couple—who are parents to Cody and Piper—moved to Detroit, Michigan, as a family.

Dan told The Athletic in August 2022 that, although he had hoped to be interviewed when the role was first offered in 2018, it was not his moment.

Holly described his feelings when he didn’t get the role to the source, saying, “You kind of go through that sensation that the one job I truly wanted is the one I’m never going to get.”

Together, though, they persisted in believing that his opportunity would present itself, and a few years later, it did. Holly is now content to watch from the sidelines and support Dan and the Lions.
