BREAKING NEWS: Daniel Jones makes Giants training camp promise amid injury recovery Saying…

NEWS FLASH: Daniel Jones promises a Giants training camp despite his recuperating from an injury Declaring…

Daniel Jones is excited to rejoin the New York Giants and begin the 2024 NFL season. Due to his ACL tear, Jones was unable to prove to head coach Brian Daboll that he was worthy of the four-year, $160 million contract he signed before the 2018 season began.

Jones won’t be able to play again until this season after suffering an injury in the sixth game of the season. Despite the fact that the quarterback had not shown much in his first four seasons in the NFL, some feel the Giants made a mistake in offering him an extension. After a mainly lackluster performance, it was anticipated that the Giants would pick a top-tier quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft.

It seems the Giants are committed to working with Jones going forward, as they were unable to finalize a deal with the New England Patriots that would have given them the third overall pick. Although Jones is aware that there has been discussion about the Giants potentially taking a new turn, his current priorities are his recuperation.

“I’m concentrating on what I can manage, which is getting ready to play excellent football. Thus, I just need to be healthy and I’ll be good to go,” Jones stated.

The Giants used their first-round pick to choose Malik Nabers, a wide receiver who has the potential to be a great. This implies that he should have a stronger wide receiver group available when he is prepared to resume practice (he claims he will be ready for training camp).

Jones needs to improve in the 2024 campaign.

With Nabers, Darius Slayton, and Wan’Dale Robins at wide receiver, the Giants should have a fairly productive group. Jalin Hyatt, Isaiah Hodgins, and Isaiah McKenzie, the Giants’ backups, could provide some depth at the position.

Jones must make the most of the skill and depth that are available to him. After the Giants defeated the Vikings on the road in the Wild Card game after the 2022 season, he was at the top of his game, but aside from that one game, he has been essentially average.

During the season, Jones completed 317 of 472 passes for 3,205 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions. The 24 touchdown passes he completed in 2019 as a rookie, aged 22, are something he has never even quite matched.

Daniel Jones is probably going to have to have his greatest season yet in 2024. The Giants will undoubtedly need to make a quarterbacking change if he does not throw at least 20 touchdown passes and the team does not make it back to the NFC playoffs.

If the Giants lose faith in Jones, it is quite doubtful that six outstanding quarterbacks will be selected in the top 12 picks of the draft once more, which may put the team in a difficult situation moving forward.

The former Duke quarterback was selected by the Giants with the sixth overall choice in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

For over 35 years, Steve Silverman has covered the NFL for various publications, including ESPN Magazine, Bleacher Report, CBS Sports, Pro Football Weekly, and Forbes.com. Among his eleven published works is “Who’s Better, Who’s Best in the NFL.”
