Packers running backs Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon sit out practice, and Eric Stokes designated for return from injured reserve
On Monday, the Green Bay Packers made a respectable comeback following their Thanksgiving holiday off.
The team was sent outside by coach Matt LaFleur, where the temperature was 20 degrees with a wind chill of 6.
Running backs AJ Dillon and Aaron Jones were two of the few who skipped practice. While Dillon has been battling with a groin injury, which did not prevent him from playing on Thanksgiving Day against Detroit, Jones is still rehabilitating from an MCL tear.
Josiah Deguara, a tight end (hip), did not practice either.
Jaire Alexander, the cornerback; Dontayvion Wicks, the wide receiver; and Rudy Ford, the safety, all did not play against the Lions.
Furthermore, cornerback Eric Stokes participated in practice, indicating that the Packers have cleared him to return from injured reserve. He has three weeks to practice if the Packers decide not to make any roster changes. During that time, they can add him back to the 53-man roster at any point.
Although they did not add safety Darnell Savage back to the 53-man roster for the Detroit game, the Packers did the same with him last week.
James Robinson, the running back, and Bo Melton, the receiver, were both absent from practice. Since they were added to the roster on Thursday to cover roster gaps, it’s likely that they have been released. Both might end up on the practice squad roster.
If the Packers decide to move Savage and Stokes to the 53, they will need to open two roster spots.
