Jameis Winston Hints at Leaving the Saints to Pursue a Starter QB Position….
As a former No. 1 selection, Jameis Winston’s career hasn’t gone as planned since he didn’t live up to expectations with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But he found a stable position with the New Orleans Saints, starting every season since 2020 as a backup quarterback.
It appears that Winston is now seeking another opportunity to start for a squad. The veteran stated to Kyle T. Mosley of Fan Nation’s Saints News Network that he hopes to attempt to secure a starting position for the upcoming campaign.
“I want nothing more than to be a starter quarterback in this league who wins Super Bowls,” Winston stated. “At this moment, that doesn’t appear
as if the New Orleans Saints were a really clear picture.
Winston spent four seasons with the Saints, appearing in twenty-one games while starting only ten of them. For New Orleans, the seasoned quarterback amassed 2,367 passing yards with 20 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
Since the Saints have committed to Derek Carr for at least the upcoming season, Winston’s wish to start is unlikely to materialize in New Orleans. Winston, nevertheless, stated that he would always be grateful to Saints supporters for their welcome of him.
He remarked, “It’s such a passion for the city.” I simply find the people admirable. Additionally, I respect this city’s honesty and culture.
Next month, Winston will become a free agent, giving teams looking for a quarterback a chance to sign him.as a beginning choice
