ย Wednesday night will mark the last time Minnesota Twins fans will see Royce Lewis suit up for a major league game since Opening Day.
He didnโt take long to get everyone fired up before the game, as if his return wasnโt already cause for celebration.
After hitting a home run and advancing to base on a single in his opening at-bat of the season, Lewis suffered a strained right quadriceps three innings into the game. It wonโt be until he bats fifth on Tuesday night in the Bronx that Twins fans witness his third at-bat of the season.
The Twins are off to their third-best start in the previous 20 years, despite how difficult things have appeared at times this season. Given that none of that would have been possible without Lewis, it appears that the only way to go moving forward is up, and a team that was already displaying signs of exceptional potential will only get stronger.
The rest of the American League had better strap in if Lewisโ pregame remarks are any guide to his level of preparedness for an impact.
