In recent years, Alabama football has sought out quarterbacks from Texas, with Keelon Russell being the most recent product of the Lone Star state to be recruited by the Tide.
Russell is a Texas native who graduated from Duncanville High School and is now committed to SMU. The Texas product, a 2025 recruit, receives a four-star evaluation from every significant recruiting website.
Russell is a dual-threat quarterback who stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 180 pounds. He can fire the ball far with remarkable accuracy and ball placement, and he can also work hard when asked to tuck and run. In order to produce some thrilling throws on the run, he also maintains his head up and his eyes down the field while he is evading pressure.
As of right now, Alabama does not have a quarterback committed from the 2025 recruiting class. Russell appears to be a welcome addition to Tuscaloosa, should he choose to bring his talents to the city.
