Jonathan Gannon: Cardinals Were ‘Deflated’
Following their 37-14 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 12, the Arizona Cardinals are currently 2-10 for the season.
Jonathan Gannon and his team had another wild week; they led 8–7 after their opening drive but were unable to muster any meaningful progress the remainder of the way.
In an interview with reporters following the game, Gannon expressed his opinion that the team’s enthusiasm level had decreased.
The Rams’ Kyren Williams was once again a threat to the Cardinals’ defense, gaining 143 yards on 16 runs in addition to 61 yards and two scores in the air on six receptions.
The Cardinals were destroyed by Matthew Stafford, who finished 25–33 with 229 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 1 interception.
Arizona’s top rusher, James Conner, gained 27 yards on six carries of the ball. Marquise Brown gained 88 yards by catching six of his twelve targets. The only receiver to score that day was Greg Dortch.
Kyler Murray gained 256 yards and one touchdown on 27 of his 45 completions; he also added a touchdown via rushes.
The Rams were 4-5 in the red zone overall and finished with 457 offensive yards as a unit. They scored on both of their fourth-down efforts and were 6–12 on the third down.
The Cardinals’ next priority is a road game against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 13.
