One of the coaches of the Kansas City Chiefs, who have emerged as the NFL’s dominant team, expressed his opinion about going for possibilities abroad.
One of the main issues that the NFL’s top clubs will face is other teams stealing their coaches.
Many times, assistants are future head coaches, and the majority of them want to work their way up to a senior position.
Being the defending Super Bowl champions shows how good the coaching staff is; thus, the Kansas City Chiefs will have to cope with that same issue.
In 2023, the Kansas City Chiefs will have a strong core of coaches.
In his NFL tenure, Andy Reid accumulated a coaching tree, making him one of the all-time great head coaches.
Matt Nagy, the offensive coordinator, has returned to prominence in the coaching world following a dismal run as the head coach of the Chicago Bears.
“You are free to present the case.” Robert Griffin III thinks that this season, Patrick Mahomes might surpass Tom Brady.
An AFC team was reportedly pursuing Xavier Worthy at “high speed,” according to a Super Bowl-winning coach.
But the coaching cycle doesn’t end there. Dave Merritt, the defensive back coach, has been successful in Missouri.
Merritt has witnessed the Chiefs have one of the top secondaries in the NFL since 2019.
In addition, he has cultivated and developed some of the league’s greatest young players.
L’Jarius Sneed developed into one of the NFL’s top lockdown cornerbacks, earning himself a lucrative contract.
The Chiefs transferred Sneed to the Tennessee Titans because of space constraints, and Merritt characterised the trade as them attempting to replace Michael Jordan.
For Merritt, Trent McDuffie is the newest project under development.
In addition, Trent McDuffie, the sensational Chiefs player, appears to be headed toward being one of the industry’s best.
McDuffie, who is 23 years old, has been an important cornerstone in his two rings and has been named to the First Team All-Pro.
Merritt’s improvement is commendable, and he is poised to produce another exceptional defensive back.
Merritt addresses the media regarding her desire to work for the NFL again
The media questioned Merritt about rising up the ladder and pursuing job options elsewhere at the most recent Chiefs OTA session.
Merritt told the media, “I still have a 16-year-old daughter who I’m trying to be a parent to, so that is still my aim.”
“I want to be there for her because she’s going to be a junior this year.”
Because of his commitment to his daughter, Merritt has put an end to any discussions about taking a position with a different NFL franchise.
The Chiefs’ defensive backfield coach is unable to find employment because of his noble desire to continue being a father figure to his daughter.
However, the Chiefs may have to part ways with their coach once Merritt is at ease, or they may give him a promotion inside the organization.
One day that will arrive, and the Chiefs will need to have a strategy in place.
