In a succinct social media statement, Davis declared his retirement on his 31st birthday.

I reflect on my NFL career and feel grateful to be a member of a brotherhood as I approach my 31st birthday today. I’ve been able to create a lot of friends and memories because of this game. I’m appreciative of every NFL organization. That being stated, I’m going to retire.

Davis spent the 2017 and 2018 seasons in Seattle and was not on an NFL roster the previous season. With Eddie Lacy and a dreadful offensive line leading the way, the Seahawks’ rushing assault in 2017 was so bad that Davis might have passed for Barry Sanders 2.0. After just six games, he had 240 yards.

During his time with the Seahawks, he ran 180 times for 754 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. He also caught 49 passes for 345 yards and one receiving touchdown. He started his professional career with the San Francisco 49ers, under Jim Tomsula and Chip Kelly.

Davis played for the Carolina Panthers, Chicago Bears, Atlanta Falcons, and Baltimore Ravens after leaving Seattle as a free agent. With the Panthers in 2020, he had his greatest season with over 1,000 scrimmage yards and nine touchdowns combined.
