Rachaad White Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB, Just Announced His Departure

Star running backs like Josh Jacobs of Las Vegas and Saquon Barkley of the New York Giants were unable to come to a long-term contract with their teams this week.
He was the backup running back for Leonard Fournette the previous season, but Fournette was cut by the team in the offseason because of salary cap issues. This year, he will start running back for Tampa Bay.
“I’m coming into this season as the team’s top running back, and I’m talking about a lot of things with the coaches and team, really just me improving on the things that I was already excellent at,” White stated in an interview with WDAE.”They’re assisting me in maintaining focus, and I think we still have some strong running backs in our arsenal.”
“We’ve just been concentrating on carrying the load when it needs to be carried, even though I don’t always need to.”

There is a popular conversation about running backs in the NFL, and White made sure to highlight how much he respects the other running backs on the squad.
Star running backs Tony Pollard, Josh Jacobs, and Saquon Barkley were all placed on the franchise tag this week and failed to come to a long-term deal with their respective teams. Additionally, it’s not expected that they’ll be in training camp with their teams.
Not having signed, other running backs like Fournette and Dalvin Cook (who was cut by Minnesota) are still unrestricted free agents.
This prompted other running backs and other players in the league to voice their disagreement with organizations that are unable to reach long-term agreements with players in that particular position, including White.
He declared, “I know what running backs contribute to the table, and I support them.” “A lot of people like to say that you don’t have to pay a lot of money to win a championship, but they never consider the catches.
“That may not be necessary for [teams like the Chiefs], but it doesn’t mean that everyone else has to.”
It’s not against the law to deny a running back whose contract is set to expire a long-term extension and a salary hike, but White said that doesn’t mean it’s appropriate—especially if the running back is among the team’s top players.
He declared, “I’m big on what’s the correct thing to do.” “There are individuals like Christian McCaffrey who have a lot more to give. I believe that the contributions that running backs make have been underappreciated.
“If you’re one of your team’s best players, I think guys should get compensated, just like in every other position.”
White’s remarks have been mirrored by other elite running backs.
Running back Derrick Henry of the Tennessee Titans stated on Twitter, “At this point, just remove the RB position out of the game then.”
“Everyone knows it’s tough to win without a great RB, and yet they behave like we are discardable widgets,” tweeted Austin Ekeler of the Los Angeles Chargers.
Since White is only in his second season with Tampa Bay, there is still time before the team must decide whether to extend his contract.
Following the collapse of negotiations for long-term deals, Barkley, Jacobs, and Pollard will all be eligible to become unrestricted free agents in the upcoming offseason.
In preparation for the upcoming season, White and his colleagues will report to One Buc Place for training camp the following week.
