The Buffalo Bills added veteran center Will Clapp to their offensive line on Friday afternoon, strengthening it for Josh Allen.
Clapp, 27, played last season for the Los Angeles Chargers, when he allowed only one sack in 702 offensive snaps. As Pro Football Focus reminds us, Clapp only allowed 24 quarterback pressures in 2023.
Clapp will most likely contend for the Bills’ swing-offensive guard position while providing valuable depth behind sturdy center Connor McGovern.
Clapp, who was originally selected by the New Orleans Saints in the 2018 NFL Draft, joins the Bills after spending two seasons as a player for the Chargers. Throughout his NFL career, he has participated in 65 games.
The test Josh Allen put the Buffalo Bills offensive linemen through.
Josh Allen is a top quarterback in the NFL, but the Buffalo Bills signal caller keeps his offensive lineman on their toes. Even tight end Dalton Kincaid understands that while Josh Allen is on the field, even if it appears that a play has broken down, the down does not finish until the whistle.
During an appearance on Fan Duel’s Up and Adams, Kincaid stated that Josh’s in-game expertise has helped him choose what he enjoys doing. “It doesn’t matter where the hell you are.”
Allen passed for 4,306 yards last season, with 29 touchdowns and 18 interceptions.
