Andy Reid of the Chiefs kingdom announced his departure.
Baxter left Naturena in June 2021, ending his second tenure there.
Below, the article continues.
Until the completion of the season, caretaker coaches Arthur Zwane and Dillon Sheppard will lead the team.
The club decided to “terminate his contract early” after the British player was unable to lead Amakhosi to second place in the Premier Soccer League standings.
The Chiefs said in a statement, “Coach Stuart Baxter and the Kaizer Chiefs have mutually agreed upon an early termination of his contract with immediate effect after a series of discussions.”
“With the exception of three league games in December 2021, Baxter has led the squad in 23 games during his second stint at Kaizer Chiefs.” In his nine games, he was able to win nine, draw six, and lose eight.
“During that period, the team managed to score 25 goals and give up 23. From Saturday, April 23, 2022, when the senior team plays Stellenbosch FC, to the end of the season, assistant coaches Arthur Zwane and Dillon Sheppard will be in command of the team.
“We hope the best for him [Baxter] going forward. The club will soon release additional information.
The Chiefs, who have already lost the MTN8 and Nedbank Cup, are out of the race for the league crown as Baxter departs.
With the Soweto giants unable to finish in the top two, which is required to secure a spot in the CAF Champions League for the upcoming season, he now leaves with them in fourth place.
Baxter, who was the last coach to win the PSL championship for Amakhosi in 2015, had a difficult second stay at Naturena in contrast to his first, which yielded two league victories.
Due to Mamelodi Sundowns’ dominance in the PSL, four coaches—Steve Komphela, Giovanni Solinas, Ernst Middendorp, and Gavin Hunt—have come and gone since that previous successful season.
