According to NBA insider Marc Stein, the Dallas Mavericks are no longer interested in drafting Bronny James due to…
The Mavericks understand, though, that it’s unlikely Bronny will be available once they start working.
According to league sources, the Mavericks are considering taking Bronny James with the 58th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, as Stein reported. The Mavericks are aware that James is not likely to be eligible for selection going forward, though.
Bronny shot 36.6% from the field, 26.7% from outside the arc, and 67.6% from the free-throw line while averaging 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.2 blocks per game for USC this season.
Bronny did well during the NBA Draft Combine’s second scrimmage in Chicago. In 23 minutes, he scored 13 points and made 4 of 10 free throws from beyond the arc.
The 3-point shooting practice was dominated by LeBron James’ kid, who shot 19/25 from beyond the arc.
On his podcast with JJ Redick, LeBron, who turns 40 next season, expressed his “extreme pride” in Bronny for handling “scrutiny” at such a young age.
LeBron remarked, “I couldn’t handle the spotlight and all he has going on at his age, at his level, with social media.
I mean, when I first started at age 18, I wasn’t concerned with social networking. I was under a lot of observation. I did have a lot of responsibilities, but I also didn’t have constant, round-the-clock news coverage, sports programming, or articles discussing this one person.
Alternatively, you can visit websites or social media platforms like Instagram and X, where anyone can leave a daily comment on anything they want to talk about. That was not something I had to handle. What a remarkable thing it is to witness him handle it with such elegance, self-awareness, and composure, guy. And I’m very proud of him.
