Justin Jefferson Can Still Break Those Nifty Records in Week 18

According to numerous sources, the Minnesota Vikings and wide receiver Justin Jefferson reached an unprecedented four-year, $140 million deal agreement on Monday. This makes Jefferson the highest-paid non-quarterback in terms of annual salary.

As of right now, Justin Jefferson earns the highest salary of any non-quarterback in the NFL every year:

    Justin Jefferson: $35 million
    Nick Bosa: $34 million

    June 3, 2024, Adam Schefter

Despite not quite earning the $40 million annual pay that some had anticipated, Jefferson won last year’s wager on himself when he declined a large offer from Minnesota.

The Vikings were determined not to trade Jefferson this summer, even though neither party had a new contract as of June 1.

According to insiders, Justin Jefferson rejected a contract that would have earned him more than $28 million a season the day before the previous season began. Jefferson took a chance on himself, and it paid off. Now, his four-year contract is worth $35 million annually.

According to league insiders, several teams inquired about dealing for Justin Jefferson this off-season. The talks came to an abrupt end when the Vikings made it clear to all of them that they had no intention of moving Jefferson.

The 24-year-old is the most recent talented wideout to take advantage of enormous pay days this offseason.

The wide receiver extensions are still in the off-season. This offseason, a number of wide receivers have signed big contracts. On the list are:
    Jefferson Justin
    Jaylen Waddle
Amon-Ra St. Brown and Nico Collins
    Brown, A.J.
    Smith DeVonta
    Jerry Jeudy
    Pittman, Michael

The San Francisco 49ers’ Brandon Aiyuk, the Dallas Cowboys’ CeeDee Lamb, and the Cincinnati Bengals’ Ja’Marr Chase are among the players still awaiting new contracts.

Since being chosen with the 22nd overall choice in the 2020 NFL Draft, Jefferson has had an incredible start to his career.

The LSU product has the greatest average of receiving yards per game (98.3) in NFL history. In his first four seasons, he has also had the second-highest number of catches (6.5) of any receiver.

Jefferson was a first team All-Pro that season and won the 2022 AP Offensive Player of the Year in addition to his three Pro Bowl selections.

Throughout his career, he has averaged at least 1,000 receiving yards and five touchdowns in every season. His 3,922 catches rank sixth and his 5,899 career receiving yards rank second since 2020.

Jefferson missed seven games last season because of a hamstring ailment, but he still managed 68 grabs for 1,074 yards and five touchdowns.
