Dak Prescott Dallas Cowboys QB, declared that he would shortly be retiring
Over the previous four games, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott may be in the greatest form of his NFL career; the San Francisco 49ers loss appears to have been the turning point in his play.
One could argue that, in terms of statistics, Dak has been the NFL’s best quarterback for the past four games. With only two interceptions, he has completed 12 touchdown passes for 1,354 yards, including two on the ground.
But that’s not all. Three times, Prescott’s completion percentage was above 70, and he finished with a quarterback rating of 109.3 or above in each of the four games.
When all is said and done, former NFL cornerback Domonique Foxworth believes that Dak is the best quarterback playing football at the moment.
On ESPN’s GetUp, Foxworth declared, “He’s the best quarterback in the NFL.”He has been the best statistically by practically all advanced metrics since the 49ers loss. Furthermore, it’s evident from watching the games that he isn’t receiving much protection. He’s having a terrible time because the offensive line is crumbling, he’s not getting the running game that we all believed Tony Pollard had, and it doesn’t exist.
“Dak seems to be making things lot simpler for everyone around him, including the coaching staff,” said the coach in reference to CeeDee Lamb’s excellent play.
Regarding the rushing game, Pollard’s move to the starting position hasn’t gone as planned because it’s been difficult to gain yards. The Cowboys have only had two games with more than 134 running yards, and he has only had one game with 100 yards or more.
Prescott therefore cannot rely on the run game as many had assumed. It doesn’t matter, though, because Dak continues to produce plays and score points.
Prescott has also received the highest rating in the NFL—90+ PFF—four times this season.
Although MVP speculation has been going on, we really need Prescott to keep up this good play a little bit longer (maybe till Dallas plays Philadelphia in Week 14).
But as of right now, it’s difficult to find a quarterback who performs better than Rayne Dakota Prescott.
