Breaking: The Cowboys risk losing another standout CB to the NFC team.
The 33-year-old defensive back is still a free agent despite having a good 2023 season with the Dallas Cowboys.
Cowboys Rumor: Stephon Gilmore being contacted by the Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers have contacted former Dallas Cowboys cornerback Stephon Gilmore on a possible return to Charlotte, according to a story published on Tuesday by Joe Person of The Athletic. Gilmore, a native of Rock Hill, South Carolina, played for the Carolina Panthers in 2021.
According to a league source, the Panthers have contacted free agent CB Stephon Gilmore regarding a potential return to Charlotte.
Gilmore, who attended the same high school as Jadeveon Clowney, was a member of the CAR Pro Bowl in 2021 and has played well into his 30s.

After a stellar 2023 season with the Cowboys, where he filled in for Trevon Diggs following his September ACL tear, Gilmore is heading into 2023.
The 33-year-old Gilmore recorded 68 combined tackles, 13 pass deflections, and two interceptions to help Dallas boast one of the league’s top passing defenses.
In addition, the seasoned cornerback surrendered four receiving touchdowns, an 82.7 pass rating allowed when targeted, and a 55.8% completion rate allowed on targets. Gilmore was thought to return to Dallas, but because they don’t have a lot of cap room, we haven’t heard anything from them.
While Gilmore played effectively on the boundary in 2023, the Cowboys might be able to survive without him the next season, but it would still be a noteworthy loss.
