Breaking: Two linebackers and one defensive back from the practice squad have been promoted by the Broncos. This will be their first-ever regular-season action in their professional careers.

Due to safety concerns, a key player has been ruled out for the second consecutive week, leading to another roster elevation. This time, a player is being promoted again, and he is expected to add depth to the lineup while contributing primarily on special teams during the game.

This promotion will mark the first time this undrafted rookie appears in a regular-season NFL game. Although he initially made the 53-man roster, he was later waived when the Broncos signed special team specialist Kristian Welch. However, with Alex Singleton out for the season due to an ACL injury and veteran linebackers Kwon Alexander and Zach Cunningham still sidelined, this rookie, Bailey, will now have a chance to step up and make an impact.

According to Denver’s Mike Klis, Bailey is projected to play a significant role on special teams, taking over for Justin Strnad, who will now take on more defensive duties. Strnad is expected to start alongside Cody Barton as the duo focuses on limiting the Jets’ running game, which will feature running backs Breece Hall and Braelon Allen. Both Barton and Strnad will face tough competition, and their performances will be critical as the Broncos work to maintain a strong defense in the absence of some of their top players. As the season progresses and with Alexander and Cunningham nearing their return, the team will be relying on these players to hold the fort and provide solid contributions until the defense is back to full strength.

Bailey’s role on special teams may seem minor, but it offers him a valuable opportunity to prove himself. Special teams play is often where young and undrafted players can carve out a niche and eventually earn more prominent roles on the team. His ability to perform under pressure in this capacity will not only help the Broncos but also determine whether he can secure a longer-term spot on the active roster.

The absence of key players like Singleton, Alexander, and Cunningham puts additional pressure on players like Strnad and Barton to rise to the occasion. The Jets’ running backs, particularly Breece Hall, are formidable opponents, and the Broncos’ defense will need to be sharp to contain them. Strnad, who has been a reliable linebacker, will now have the chance to demonstrate his ability to handle increased defensive responsibilities, while Barton will also be critical in this matchup. Their ability to effectively stop the run and limit big plays will be essential to the Broncos’ defensive strategy.

As the Broncos face this challenging period without some of their veteran defenders, the next few games will be a real test of their depth and resilience. The team will hope that their younger players, such as Bailey, can make the most of these opportunities and fill the gaps left by injured veterans. This situation presents a chance for Bailey to gain valuable experience and for Strnad to prove he can be a dependable starter.

Meanwhile, the potential return of Alexander and Cunningham looms on the horizon, offering hope for reinforcements as the season progresses. Until then, the Broncos’ defense will need to rely on a mix of experienced players and fresh faces to keep the team competitive and prepared for the challenges ahead.

In summary, Bailey’s elevation to the active roster due to injuries in the Broncos’ defense represents a critical moment for the undrafted rookie. His contribution on special teams could prove vital to the team, while Justin Strnad and Cody Barton will face a tough task in defending against the Jets’ powerful running backs. As injuries continue to impact the roster, the Broncos will look to these players to step up and maintain the defense until their veterans return to full strength.
