Verstappen to Debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed with Major Red Bull F1 Presence
Dutch F1 champion Max Verstappen will make his first appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next month, highlighting a significant Red Bull presence. Verstappen, the first reigning F1 champion to attend the event, will drive the RB16B, his 2021 title-winning car, up the hill on Sunday, July 14. He will be joined by his teammate Sergio Perez, who will drive the RB19 from 2023, and team principal Christian Horner, who will handle the RB8 from 2012.
Former Red Bull drivers Daniel Ricciardo, David Coulthard, Mark Webber, and Christian Klien will also drive various Red Bull cars, including the RB1, the team’s debut car from 20 seasons ago.
The event will see the world debut of Red Bull’s new RB17 Hypercar, designed by Adrian Newey, on the festival’s opening Friday. This marks the first time a Formula 1 team is celebrated on such a scale at Goodwood.
Other F1 teams present will include Ferrari, Mercedes, McLaren, Alpine, and Williams. Williams has confirmed its 2024 drivers Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant, along with team boss James Vowles, will participate. McLaren will feature Emerson Fittipaldi in the M23, which won the 1974 F1 world title, and Bruno Senna driving his uncle Ayrton’s 1991 championship-winning MP4/6, marking the 40th anniversary of Ayrton Senna’s death and the 50th anniversary of McLaren’s first F1 world title and 1974 Indianapolis 500 win.
