With his historic contract signed, Lamar Jackson of the Ravens is eager to move on and work with an enhanced wide receiver corps.
Lamar Jackson, the quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens, became the highest-paid athlete in NFL history last Thursday when he signed a five-year, $260 million contract.
The negotiations between Jackson, who represents himself, and Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta took a rough turn after more than two years of preparation. Following Jackson’s public trade request in March, Baltimore applied the non-exclusive franchise tag to the quarterback.
All of it was dust in the rearview mirror at the end.
“They say that those who wait will receive the best things. “We’ve been waiting for a while, and now we’re here,” DeCosta stated at the news conference on Thursday that revealed the deal.
