Two girls injured in the Chiefs parade shooting received “caring and loving” from Patrick and Brittany Mahomes.
Support is being provided to youngsters injured in the Kansas City Chiefs victory parade by Patrick and Brittany Mahomes.
Lisa Lopez-Galvan was shot and died on Wednesday in Kansas City, Missouri, after the NFL team paraded and rallied. Twenty-three other people were also hurt. “Having a surprise visit from Patrick and Brittany Mahomes provided the first smile to their faces since tragedy occurred, at a time when they are frightened, heartbroken, and worried. According to the previous announcement, a GoFundMe account has already been established to assist with the family’s medical costs. The campaign’s administrator, Katie Martinez, stated on the website that “this fund will help offer essential financial support for their physical and mental healing; any leftover donations will be kept for their college expenses.”
The page received two separate $50,000 gifts from 34-year-old Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce’s charity, Eighty-Seven & Running, on Friday. As of Saturday morning, almost $180,000 had been raised.
According to reports, the Reyes family also expressed gratitude to Children’s Mercy Hospital, Patrick, and Brittany for “their outpouring [of] care, love, and support.”
Patrick and the Chiefs announced on Friday the establishment of KCStrong, a fund designed to assist the families and victims of the massacre.
“We want to be there for them, just as #ChiefsKingdom has always been there for me and my family,” the quarterback wrote on X (previously Twitter). “#KCStrong, an emergency response fund assisting first responders, victims and their families, and violence prevention and mental health services, has been created by the @Chiefs.”
