Clarity: As Rafael Said ‘Never Said My Career
Would End In Paris’: Nadal Looks To Continue Beyond French Open
Rafael Nadal stated that he plans to compete in the Olympics; thus, he will not be calling it quits at Roland Garros in 2024.
The Olympic Games and Roland Garros are undoubtedly the two events that the 37-year-old has marked on his calendar for this year. Contrary to popular belief, Nadal will not be retiring at Roland Garros.
Remember that the 22-time Grand Slam champion hinted that he would play into the 2024 season if all goes according to plan? Since then, he has revised previous statements to acknowledge that 2024 will probably be the last year because his body is no longer cooperating, but that Roland Garros won’t be his last competition.
As he revealed to Movistar after his most recent defeat against Jiri Lehecka at the 2024 Madrid Open, he actually intends to play longer than that.
“To compete in the Olympics once more is my ambition. I’ve never claimed that Paris would be the end of my career.”
Nadal declares he will compete in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
It would be incredible to have Rafael Nadal at the Olympics, especially given that the competition will take place on the Roland Garros courts. If he could compete at the Games again, his fans would be ecstatic.
He’s experienced some incredible moments at the Olympics, and it would be fantastic to see him side by side with Carlos Alcaraz, the future of Spanish tennis.
Both have stated that they intend to play doubles together, but their health has also placed limitations on them until 2024. With each match, Nadal appears more and more formidable, yet anything may happen at any time.
He tries to plan his itinerary carefully because he is aware that one injury may terminate his career, but the Olympics are obviously marked on the calendar.
