According to reports, Caitlin Clark is getting closer to landing a significant endorsement agreement. The Wall Street Journal reports that the WNBA athlete will soon sign an eight-year contract with Nike worth up to $28 million. The athlete’s prior contract with the massive sportswear company expired at the end of the collegiate basketball season this year. As part of her eight-figure endorsement deal, Clark, 22, is reportedly set to receive a signature Nike sneaker, according to The Athletic.
Significant proposals were also offered to Clark by Under Armour and Adidas, two industry sources told the publication. Fans were incensed to learn about Clark’s WNBA starting pay, which prompted the possible deal. Even though Clark was the first overall choice in the draft earlier this month, he is only anticipated that he will agree to a $338,056 four-year contract.
