Alcaraz admits he’s worried by the frequent injuries that bother him.
It’s fascinating to note that despite how much time he has already missed, he appears to still be subpar ahead of his first encounter at the Madrid Open. The Spaniard has previously struggled with little ailments as well as a couple larger ones that forced him to miss several months of action.
As he ages and becomes more prone to injuries, it is not encouraging for his future. As Alcaraz explained to Marca, he is concerned about it because he doesn’t entirely understand why it occurs.
“The truth is that, even if I am doing everything right—sleeping, eating, training, and so on—I still frequently question myself why I am not understanding certain situations or occasions, and then I become injured. Ultimately, we must deal with injuries.”
Things just happen for no apparent reason sometimes, but Alcaraz thinks the future is promising. He believes that by taking action now, it will all pay off later on and prevent him from getting hurt.
“Although I have trained well and feel physically well, my body is not finished at the age of 20. It will take my body a few years to acclimate to this load. I think things will improve if we take care of ourselves these years. But I’ve asked myself this question a lot, and I’m not sure I understand it.”
