Controversy Looms: Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk Match Leaves Brit Unsettled…

Fury and Usyk are less than three weeks away from their eagerly anticipated undisputed clash but the fight has been backed to ‘end in controversy’

Fight Countdown: Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk - YouTube

Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury have been informed that there may not be a clear winner in their undisputed heavyweight world title fight.

The fight for all four heavyweight titles between Fury and Usyk took place on May 18, one month later than planned due to Fury’s injury sustained during a final sparring session in February. Though he is unsure of his forecast for the bout, former world champion Johnny Nelson believes that Fury won’t be happy with the result.

“Tyson Fury was present in a dream I had. I am attempting to make sense of what I observed. Tyson Fury was not pleased with it because it was contentious, Nelson told Sky Sports. “I’m not sure if that indicates that Tyson Fury won in a contentious manner or that Tyson lost, but I am aware that there

“Take note of that! I don’t know if Tyson won or lost in a dramatic manner, but there will undoubtedly be controversy. He was p***ed off.” After his impressive knockout victory over Francis Ngannou last month, Anthony Joshua has been promised a shot at the winner next. Fury and Usyk are tied into a two-fight pact that would probably tie them up until next year.

In the event that Fury withdraws from their fight once more, Usyk’s promoter, Alex Krassyuk, has brought in mandatory world championship contender Filip Hrgovic to take Fury’s place. Nelson believes that Fury will retire after a stoppage loss to Usyk. Fury has been dropped seven times in his professional career, but he has never been knocked out.

“I have no doubt that both men can win by knockout. With every heavyweight match that Usyk participates in, he grows more at ease with heavyweights. I spoke with three of his five heavyweight sparring partners, and they told me that he got stronger as the rounds went on and that he easily defeated them all,” Nelson continued.

“We believe that Tyson Fury’s physical attributes—his height, reach, and speed—will provide a significant challenge for Usyk. However, Fury’s physical attributes do not stem from his strength. Power comes from speed, and both boxers risk being knocked out. Fury would throw it in if he is knocked out as Francis Ngannou was.”
