Diontae Johnson’s Real Opinion on the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Intent to Trade Him During the 2024 Offseason

Diontae Johnson is one of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ most productive wide receivers and has been since the team selected him in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. His strength as an athlete has made him a reliable option for the team’s quarterbacks when they need someone to pass to.

However, since reports of him quitting the team quickly spread, his future with the team is now unclear. Johnson’s contract with the team is about to expire, and their unwillingness to extend it speaks volumes about their opinion of him.

He has chosen to concentrate on what he can do and has taken to social media to reaffirm his beliefs in the face of persistent speculation about his future.

Diontae Johnson ignores trade talk involving the Pittsburgh Steelers in favor of his own game.

When the 27-year-old wide receiver learned that the organization might be weighing their choices for his future, Yardbarker’s Nick Farabaugh gave insight into his thoughts.

His answer was as direct as it could be, sharing his perspective on the entire play.

Johnson discussed his thoughts on the subject on X, the program that was once known as Twitter, when the reports surfaced. He said things like “people just be talkin” and “it is what it is.”

After breaking the news, he probably said this in response to Tony Pauline of SportsKeeda:

Is Diontae Johnson, a receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers, up for trade? Maybe, if the price is right, is the succinct response. Pauline composed a letter. “Although it would be unfair to state that Johnson is on the trade block, multiple sources inform me that the Steelers are willing to trade the receiver for a suitable return.”

Despite being limited by injuries, Johnson had a strong 2023 campaign. He caught 51 passes for 717 receiving yards and five touchdowns, with a career-high 14.1 yards per catch, in the 13 regular-season games he participated in.

If they don’t trade him this spring, Steelers supporters will be hoping that they can keep him until 2024, but they also realize that the team’s cap predicament may force them to let him go. Fortunately, the 2024 NFL Draft is full of outstanding wide receivers that they can select.
