Quarterback Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs and his spouse Britanny have made statements following multiple shootings during the team’s Super Bowl triumph parade.

The pair used social media to express their sorrow over the tragic event, which resulted in at least fifteen injuries and one fatality.

Drue Tranquill, a linebacker with the Chiefs, also sent a message requesting prayers for the victims.

During the parade, shortly after the Chiefs players had left the stage, bullets went off near Union Station, resulting in one person dead and at least fifteen injuries, according to Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graces, who made this announcement at a press conference on Wednesday.

Patrick Mahomes posted, “Praying for Kansas City,” on X, the former name of Twitter in response to the tragic event.

Brittany, the quarterback’s wife, discussed the event similarly to her husband. On her Instagram stories, she posted the following message: “Shooting is never the solution. This is difficult; I’m praying for Kansas City and for America as a whole.
