There were tears of delight from Azari Ford when she learned that her colleagues had nominated her as the 2024 Eagles Pro Bowl cheerleader.
“I was stunned,” Ford said. “It was such an incredible experience that I began weeping.”
The Eagles cheerleaders spoke to the whole team on Tuesday, December 26, after which they cast votes to send one player to the Pro Bowl.
On February 4, Ford was chosen by her teammates to represent the group and team in the 2024 Pro Bowl in Orlando, Florida.
“It is one of the finest awards you can obtain as a cheerleader,” Ford added. “It’s unbelievable that I can do this as my last attempt.”
Barbara Zaun, Director of the Eagles Entertainment Teams, stated, “Azari was chosen by her teammates for this prestigious accolade, which is a testament to the outstanding leadership she exhibits as a team captain and the respect she has earned through her dedication, tireless work ethic, tremendous talent, and her natural ability to galvanize camaraderie within the squad.” “She makes everyone she comes in contact with happy, and she will definitely shine during Pro Bowl week.”
Ford’s statement was centered on her passion for giving back to her community and serving as an Eagles brand ambassador. She also stated how much she loved dancing and how much she cared about the team and her teammates.
The first-year captain is in her sixth and final season with the club. At the age of 18, Ford joined the Eagles cheer squad as the youngest person to do so after high school graduation. Ford attended the University of the Arts during her first four years on the team, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance and a minor in business.
“I will always be thankful to the Eagles for helping me become the lady I am today,” Ford said. “The Eagles have given me the room to eat, sleep, breathe, dance, and express myself via that.”
“Azari has been a model spokesperson for the Eagles organization over the last six years,” Zaun said. “As a worldwide brand ambassador, she has championed vital issues and leveraged the powerful platform she has as an Eagles cheerleader to have a meaningful effect in the lives of people. She really deserves to be named a Pro Bowl cheerleader.”
On gamedays, Azari’s brilliance was evident.
Ford has been able to pursue her passion with the Eagles for six years—the longest tenure a cheerleader may have with the team—thanks to her strong work ethic, tenacity, and optimism.
The Eagles Cheerleader of the Year for 2021–2022 also expressed appreciation for her small-town background in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, for giving her the motivation to pursue her goals.
Ford said, “You can be anything that you want to be, no matter where you come from or who you are.” “It definitely inspires my town to be able to continue being an Eagles cheerleader every year.”
Ford talked with the young people of Phillipsburg a few weeks ago at an event held at the Firth Youth Center. She shared her experience with them and demonstrated to them that “dreams do come true.”
Ford never stops giving back to her community, whether it’s in Philadelphia or her hometown. She owes her passion for service to having seen and assisted her mother’s altruism when she was younger.
Ford went back to teaching at 5-6-7-8 Dance, the dance school she attended growing up, during the COVID-19 epidemic. She choreographs competitions for the studio at the moment.
Ford has previously gathered prom gowns to distribute to kids and made crafts with elderly residents of nearby care facilities. She also actively participates in MERCK for Mothers, an international program that aims to advance universal access to safe, excellent, fair, and courteous maternity care.

Ford said, “I truly want to change the world and constantly do something great.” “I want to provide people who don’t seek it that support and direction.”

Ford has spent six years with the team, and although she has numerous experiences, her favorite is from her involvement in the Inspire Change event at Super Bowl LVII. The NFL’s year-round social justice program is called Inspire Change. Children received computers from Ford and other attendees at the ceremony.
“It was just another incredible thing to be able to convey that feeling of community someplace other than just Philadelphia,” Ford said.
In front of all the supporters at Lincoln Financial Field, Ford received recognition as the 2024 Pro Bowl cheerleader to cap off her last regular-season home game as an Eagles cheerleader.
Ford will never forget the memorable occasion that her family saw.
“You can’t place a price tag on that sensation; it was nothing less than pure pleasure and delight,” Ford said. “I would never have reached where I am now if it wasn’t for the support of my family, friends, coaches, and teammates.”
