Emergency: Fernando Alonso F1 Driver Crashed into
Formula One driver Fernando Alonso has spoken out about his test run collision with a wall at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona back in February, just before making his comeback at the Malaysian Grand Prix.
Keep checking back for updates.
On Thursday, March 26, Alonso Talks About The Barcelona Accident And His Return To Malaysia.
The Spanish driver disclosed that McLaren had changed certain aspects of the car because of a steering problem that caused him to crash into the barrier during testing. Furthermore, he acknowledged that there wasn’t much he could do about it, according to Chris Medland of F1i.com:

Alonso further states: “I don’t know if you’ve seen the video but even a hurricane would not move the car at that sort of speed” #F1
Following the collision, there had been rumors that the two-time world champion had memory loss. El Pais (via Byron Young and Ed Malyon of the Mirror) claimed that the McLaren driver “woke up 1995.”
But before he goes back to racing, Alonso has refuted those rumors, according to Formula 1:

Regarding his injury, Alonso said, “In 1995, I didn’t wake up speaking Italian. I recall the crash and the entire events of the next day.”
The Spaniard did seem quite eager to get back behind the wheel, in fact. In the season’s first race, McLaren truly missed his poise and talent as teammate Jenson Button could only scrape together an 11th place finish; Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton won the race handily.
Before making his comeback to competition, Alonso reassured everyone that there was nothing to worry about and stated that it wasn’t the best spectacle to see from the sidelines, according to ESPN F1:
Alonso said, “There are zero problems and zero worries from my side.”
As he stands on the sidelines, Alonso comments, “I don’t think I picked the best race to watch” in reference to Melbourne.
