Ex-West Tigers Chairman Lee Hagipantelis pulls $1 million out of the team due to
Lee Hagipantelis, the former chairman of the Wests Tigers, has ended his $1 million sponsorship deal with Brydens Lawyers for the NRL team.
Hagipantelis informed the team of the news in a caustic two-page letter, per Fox Sports.
After a startling internal investigation, Hagipantelis was abruptly fired as West Tigers chairman in December 2023, a position he had held for four years. This led to the sponsorship being withdrawn.
Given that Hagipantelis is the principal of Brydens Lawyers, the Tigers’ connection with the primary sponsor, Brydens Lawyers, is in jeopardy after his departure.

Hagipantelis attacked new CEO Shane Richardson, called important stakeholders “cowards,” and called the review process a “sham” in a scathing letter that News Corp. was able to receive.
In his letter, Hagipantelis stated, “I find it most distasteful to contemplate the continuation of a relationship with the West Tigers while these persons remain involved.”
“I hope the Wests Tigers have a prosperous future. My unwavering support for Benji, the football team, the players, and the staff will not waver.
