Nadal Thrashes 16-Year-Old Blanch Without Any Issues In Madrid Return

Exciting: As Rafa Nadal returns to winning ways, thrashing out Blanch

At the Madrid Open, Rafael Nadal produced a stunning comeback, defeating 16-year-old Darwin Blanch in two sets.

Given his opponent, Nadal was expected to have an easy day in this match. Although Blanch is a very gifted 16-year-old player with a bright future ahead of him, he was never going to be able to compete with Rafael Nadal on clay at this time.

He’s not as conversant with the surface as one would anticipate from an American player, and he’s not even close to being Nadal’s current challenger. Many unanswered issues surround the legend and his current situation, but despite his own admission that he’s not at his best, he’s still competent enough to win matches like this one.

It was not surprising that he took an early break in an ATP Masters 1000 first-round encounter in Madrid. He continued to put pressure on Blanch, who was attempting to regain his footing.

Nadal prevailed 6-1 in the opening set as he was controlling the rallies. Though the teenager occasionally managed to launch a strong serve that caught his opponent off guard, the match was over as soon as Nadal put his forehand into it.

Despite having a tremendous serve, Blanch gave it his best effort when serving himself, but it wasn’t very successful. Nadal managed to win points by keeping the ball in play for an extended period of time.

There was nothing new to report from the second set; he easily outplayed the adolescent once more. Although Nadal had a strong start, the final score of 6-1, 6-0 does not reveal anything about his true ability.

Although it’s encouraging to watch him participate and perform, in the end, we don’t know how he feels. Alex de Minaur, who defeated the Spaniard in Barcelona last week, will be the next opponent and could be a far more difficult test for him.
