Robert Spillanei of the Raiders is a soon-to-be dad! He reveals his wife’s pregnancy following a thrilling victory.
Robert Spillane, a linebacker for the Las Vegas Raiders, took advantage of the biggest play of his career to share some amazing news: he and his wife are expecting their first child together!
In the closing minutes of the Sunday Night Football game, the 27-year-old former Western Michigan standout intercepted New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson, giving the Raiders their second straight victory under interim head coach Antonio Pierce, 16–12.
Following the final whistle, Spillane was questioned, and the interviewer focused on his wife, Shelby, who was wildly applauding him from the stands.
Melissa Stark was informed by Spillane, “My wife is truly pregnant.” “I’m excited because we get to announce to the world tonight that my lovely wife will give birth to our first child here in June.”
More than his game-winning highlight play, Spillane, who wed Shelby this past winter, seems ecstatic with the news!
For Spillane, it was an emotional roller coaster. Just two weeks earlier, the guy fractured his hand and needed surgery, but he didn’t miss a single second of games.
He said, “Football players play football games.” “They play with injuries and with hurts. I became aware of that at a very early age. Most people believe that you must be injured in order to play. You must play while hurt. You must play with shattered fingers. You have to use your damaged hand to play. You have to play with an MCL tear.”
“Going out there is a privilege and an honor. I therefore want to seize any chance I get to play on the field.”
What a strong man that is!
