Captain James McCarthy of the Dubs and his spouse welcome their first child.

While Dublin was occupied with their match against Kerry over the weekend, Captain James McCarthy was thinking about something else because he and his wife Clodagh had just had their first child.

At the All-Stars awards last year, the couple revealed via EVOKE that 2024 would be busy due to the arrival of a new family member.

The couple, who were ecstatic, had a newborn boy, who we’re sure already has his own GAA Dublin shirt.

Conall Michael McCarthy was born on the weekend of February 25th, according to the Dublin Gaelic Fans group. James went to the hospital rather than Croke Park.

The couple told us in November of last year that they planned to hide the baby’s gender.

While he is excited, James continued, he has “some figuring out to do over the New Year.” He laughed as he stated that it’s best to “row your own boat” while seeking advise from other boys on the team on being a dad.
