Good News: As The Steelers take the lead by landing a top Pass-Catcher
The Pittsburgh Steelers Appear to be the top option to trade for the 49ers’ leading receiver.
PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers’ connections to 49ers standout wideout Brandon Aiyuk have only grown stronger since trade whispers revived over the weekend.
Now the Steelers are favored to obtain San Francisco’s best pass-catcher via the trade market, according to Chris Adamski of the Pittsburgh Tribune Review. Pittsburgh has the greatest odds to be his next team at 2/1, followed by the Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots (6/1), Arizona Cardinals (7/1) and Los Angeles Chargers (9/1).

The Steelers were reportedly interested in dealing for 49ers star Brandon Aiyuk earlier this summer but San Francisco general manager John Lynch shut that option down quickly at the NFL League Meetings last month.
But trade rumors gathered back up momentum recently, with NFL source Benjamin Albright implying that the move was likely. Sources also told All Steelers that they “would be surprised if it didn’t happen.” The Steelers wouldn’t be willing to break the bank for him but at the proper price, would leap at the opportunity add a bonafide star to combine with George Pickens in the passing game.
Aiyuk posted a career-high with 1,342 receiving yards last season and added seven touchdown grabs as well. He’s amassed 3,931 yards and 25 touchdowns over his first four seasons in the NFL.
