Helmut Marko has been “barred from giving interviews” as Red Bull launches a further probe. Helmut Marko, an advisor for Red Bull, made a shocking surprise in Saudi Arabia.
According to reports, Helmut Marko has been advised by Red Bull’s corporate headquarters not to talk to Saudi media.
As a major ally of Max Verstappen, the 80-year-old hinted that he would be suspended following this weekend’s Grand Prix. The beverage firm is reportedly investigating the source of media leaks as part of their inquiry into Christian Horner.
Verstappen’s three world title victories since 2021 have been accompanied by Marko, who has been a vital part of his racing career.
Ever since Horner was named team leader in 2005, he has served as an advisor to Red Bull’s Formula One team.
Red Bull’s internal conflict was triggered by a recent inquiry into Horner regarding claims of inappropriate behaviour made by a suspended female coworker. Horner vehemently denied any misconduct and was later exonerated by the beverage corporation.
The media subsequently obtained stolen WhatsApp communications and images that were purportedly sent by Horner to an anonymous user. Jos Verstappen, Verstappen’s father, demanded that Horner go because he thought the Red Bull team would be “ripped apart.”
One of Max Verstappen’s most important Formula One allies is Helmut Marko.
It is said that earlier this week, Verstappen Sr. hosted a birthday dinner in Dubai, to which Marko went but Horner did not.
Red Bull has now opened an inquiry into Marko to find out who leaked information to the media during the Horner scandal.
Whether or not Marko violated team protocol is still under review, and Red Bull has not made a determination as of yet.
