https://matchsportnews.comIndyCar driver James Hinchcliffe has revealed his top five picks for the drivers who have impressed him most in the 2024 season. The Canadian driver, who currently races for Andretti Autosport, listed a mix of current championship contenders and up-and-coming talent.

In fifth place, Hinchcliffe picked 22-year-old Alex Palou, who is currently third in the championship standings. The Spaniard has impressed with his consistency and speed, having claimed two victories so far this season.

In fourth place, Hinchcliffe chose fellow Canadian driver Dalton Kellett, who races for AJ Foyt Racing. Kellett has had a challenging season so far, with just one top-10 finish to his name, but Hinchcliffe praised him for his hard work and dedication to the sport.

Taking the third spot on Hinchcliffe’s list was Colton Herta, the 24-year-old who currently sits in second place in the championship standings. Hinchcliffe praised Herta’s natural talent and aggressive driving style, which has seen the American claim three race victories so far this season.

In second place, Hinchcliffe picked Will Power, who he said has been “driving like a man possessed” in recent races. The Australian driver, who races for Team Penske, has had a tumultuous season with several crashes and retirements, but has also claimed two victories and three pole positions.

Finally, Hinchcliffe’s top pick for the season was seven-time IndyCar champion Scott Dixon. The New Zealander is currently leading the championship standings and has claimed four race victories so far this season. Hinchcliffe praised Dixon for his consistency and ability to deliver strong performances week in and week out.

Other notable drivers who received honorable mentions from Hinchcliffe included Josef Newgarden, Alexander Rossi, and Simon Pagenaud. The 34-year-old driver said he was impressed with the overall level of competition in the series this season, and encouraged fans to tune in to see the exciting racing unfold.
