On Saturday night, December 3, the visiting Boston Bruins defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs by a score of 4-3. The game concluded with a goal scored by Brad Marchand at 4:52 of the extra period.

In the eighth game of the season, Marchand scored his eighth goal on a rebound after David Pastrnak had broken away from the defense.

The game went into overtime after Auston Matthews scored his second goal of the game at 19:54 of the third period. Mitchell Marner and John Tavares assisted on the goal, which was scored after goaltender Joseph Woll was taken out of the game to make room for an additional attacker.

At Boston on November 2, the Bruins prevailed in the first matchup by a score of 3-2 in a shootout.

Along with two assists, Pastrnak scored a goal. In addition, Kevin Shattenkirk and Trent Frederic scored for the Bruins, who emerged victorious in two consecutive games after suffering three consecutive defeats.

A total of 37 shots were blocked by Linus Ullmark for the Bruins.

In addition, Max Domi scored for the Maple Leafs, who had won their previous two games in a row.

For Toronto, Woll made a total of 33 saves.

10 minutes and 44 seconds into the first quarter, Boston took the lead. During the course of the season, Pastrnak scored his 14th goal by taking an outlet pass from Brandon Carlo and shooting from a distance of 43 feet, close to the right circle.

In addition, Hampus Lindholm was credited with an assist for the winner.

After one period, Toronto had a 10-7 edge in shots on goal compared to the other team.

A shot that Matthews took at 1:42 of the second period was unsuccessful because it hit the right goal post.

At the 7:31 mark of the second period, Shattenkirk scored his first goal of the season with a backhand shot that was close to the goal. It was a deft, no-look pass from Pastrnak that led to the goal scored by the defenseman. The other assist was received by Jake DeBrusk.

At the 12:06 mark of the second period, Matthews scored his 15th goal of the season by putting the rebound off William Nylander’s shot into the back of the basket. In addition, Matthew Knies was able to garner an assist.

At the end of the first two periods, Toronto had a 23-17 advantage in shots on goal.

At 2:11 of the third period, Domi scored his first goal of the season after coming from the low slot. This goal tied the game. Calle Jarnkrok also had an assist on the play, and Nicholas Robertson was the one who made the pass.

After a rebound, Frederic scored his sixth goal at 13:10 of the third period, putting Boston in the lead by a score of 3-2. Both Morgan Geekie and Derek Forbort were credited with assists.
