The Buckeyes won’t be winning the Super Bowl.
Many Ohio State players, like linebacker Malik Harrison, defensive tandem Nick Bosa and Chase Young, and lineman Taylor Decker, are still not chasing a Super Bowl victory.
Even though the Ohio State Buckeyes aren’t playing this weekend, a number of former players will be on the field on Sunday.
There are presently seven former Buckeyes on the rosters of the four NFL clubs competing in the AFC and NFC Conference Championships. These former Ohio State football players will punch their ticket to Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, February 11, provided their team wins.
The following is a complete roster of Ohio State football alumni teams, along with information on how to watch each team’s games:
The team with the greatest number of former Buckeyes both on the roster and in action is Detroit. Two former Ohio State standouts are in the camps of Baltimore and San Francisco, but J.K. Dobbins, the running back for the Ravens, will not play on Sunday because of an injury sustained early in the season.
This weekend, Buckeye State will be represented by more than just Ohio State. The Lions will face San Francisco cornerback Samuel Womack III (Toledo), and the Ravens will face Kansas City tight end Travis Kelce (Cincinnati) and injured safety Bryan Cook (Cincinnati).
Furthermore, an astounding 51 players from the four teams attended one of the 18 current Big Ten colleges for their undergraduate careers. With sixteen, the 49ers lead the other teams in this category, which also includes the Ravens (14), Lions (13), and Chiefs (8).
