The Bucs have signed a player to future contracts to join their squad, bringing their total to fourteen. Inside linebacker Vi Jones, long snapper Evan Deckers, and defensive tackles Eric Banks and Lwal Uguak were all named by the organization on Tuesday.

Banks and Uguak, two defensive tackles, are the two newest players. In 2020, Banks joined the Rams as an undrafted free agent. He made the team’s initial 53-man roster but was waived in October and assigned to the practice squad. He was claimed off waivers the next season, but the Chargers selected him before he had to go far.

The Bucs’ defensive line is subject to change for the 2024 campaign.Significant roles will be played by Vita Vea and Logan Hall, but free agents Greg Gaines, Pat O’Connor, and veteran Buc Will Gholston are also.

Deadrin Senat inked a futures contract, while Bucs head coach Todd Bowles remains committed to Mike Greene, whom he previously described as one of their most improved players.

Over the final three months of the season, Jones alternated between being on the practice squad and being dismissed on a regular basis. Prior to the Bucs’ opening playoff game on January 10, he had signed in November, been let go in December, renewed on December 19, and been released on January 10. It seems likely that Jones will have the chance to demonstrate his worth and become a Tampa Bay mainstay.

This time around, the linebacker room might appear somewhat different. With Lavonte David and Devin White set to become free agents, the roster is left to be filled by K.J. Britt, SirVocea Dennis, and J.J. Russell.
